I will be able to:

Show numbers in expanded form, word form and standard form.

Compare numbers to 10,000 using <,>, and =.

Round numbers to nearest place value up to 10,000.

Identify place value of a digit within a number.

Compose and decompose numbers e.g. 4+5=9 and 9=8+1.

Use tiles, blocks and everyday objects to represent value of a number.

Use traditional and alternative algorithms for adding and subtracting large numbers including decimals.

Use inverse operations to check results of computations.

Use place value to perform operations using multiple approaches, especially regrouping.

Use objects and drawings to represent operations.

Solve multi-step problems.

Use addition to determine perimeters of polygons.

Know multiplication facts for 2s, 4s, 5s, 8s, and 10s.

Use inverse operations to check results of computations.

Know and use relationships of addition and division.

Use concrete objects and drawings to represent operations.

Use zero and identify properties of multiplication.

Solve multi-step problems that require using multiple operations.

Use area model of multiplication.

Know when and how to set-up and solve a word problem.

Explain why I solved a problem a certain way.
